Rupa Chakravarty, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, is the Director of Physical Therapy.  She has been practicing Physical Therapy for 15 years, specializing in orthopedic and sports injuries as well as neurological rehabilitation.

Rupa holds a doctorate degree in Physical therapy from Des Moines University.  She graduated with distinction during her doctoral program in 2006 and some of her project work has been included as part of the course curriculum for students.  Prior to receiving her doctorate, Rupa graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from Bombay University in 1993.  She has 2 research papers to her credit during her course work.

Rupa has worked extensively in different settings with varying age groups and medical conditions.  She has worked in hospitals, both in acute and subacute settings, home care, and pediatric treatment.  She owned an outpatient private practice catering to orthopedic and neurological care prior to moving to the United States.

Rupa has numerous certifications under her belt for different techniques in Physical Therapy practice which allow her to offer a broad range of therapies to patients depending on their needs.  She regularly attends seminars and conferences to hone her skills in the latest methodologies of the field.

Rupa resides with her husband and child in Sunnyvale, California.


Brendan Gibbs is a licensed physical therapist assistant for HealthNOW Physical Therapy. He specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy. He received his training at the College of DuPage in Illinois and has been licensed as a P.T.A since 2000.

In addition he has received training and certification in massage therapy from the Wellness and Massages Therapy Institution in Illinois since 1995. Brendan has a Bachelors degree from Bellevuue University in Nebraska in 2006.

He has worked in various clinics focusing in acute, subacute skilled nursing facilities and neurological settings. He also has experience in wound care treatments, aquatic P.T, 5 years experience of rehabilitation for amateur in a variety of sports training and pre/post surgical orthopedics.

In his spare time he enjoys music, hiking, mountain biking, camping and traveling.


Casey is a certified massage therapist at HealthNOW Physical Therapy with over 8 years of experience in the field. He graduated in 2000 from Silicon Valley College in Fremont, CA with a degree in Massage Therapy/Holistic health. He has also studied Kinesiology from Foothill College in Los Altos, CA. He has certifications on various massage therapy techniques with special emphasis on deep tissue work.

Prior to HealthNOW, Casey has worked extensively in other outpatient physical therapy and chiropractic offices in and around the Bay Area. He loves combining therapeutic massage with exercises to achieve excellent results for orthopedic problems in patients.

When he is not working, he volunteers his time as a little league coach for the San Leandro Little League.

Sean Brady is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant at HealthNOW Physical Therapy. He graduated in 2008 from Ohlone College in Fremont with an Associate degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. While in school he completed clinical Physcial Therapy assignments in a variety of settings including outpatient P.T clinics, in-patient settings and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Further, Sean has completed courses in Swedish massage and Acupressure at U.C.S.C California.

Before completing P.T.A school at Ohlone College, Sean worked as a P.T Aide at different Physical Therapy clinics in San Francisco, California.

Sean enjoys helping patients rehabilitate from various injuries, improve their posture, and gain strength in order to live healthy, active lifestyles. Sean has first hand knowledge of sports injuries being in athletics most of his life.

He currently is an avid surfer as well as a cyclist.

Annie is a certified massage therapist at HealthNOW Physical Therapy with over 4 years of experience in the field. She graduated in 2005 from Ahern's School of Theraputic Massage in Mariposa, California. She has certifications in a variety of techniques and is currently studying Triggerpoint Therapy. She enjoys combining Swedish with Deep pressure because of the beneficial outcomes.

Prior to HealthNOW, Annie has had experience working in an outpatient Physical Therapy office in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, coaching competitive swimming and traveling to her clients as a massage therapist both in Tahoe and Sonora.

In her spare time she enjoys cycling, snowshoeing, kayaking, open water swimming and dancing hula.
